Meet AngelDollz
Meet The Creator
AngelDollz and angelBABE were created and designed by Melina Jazmin, a 2D illustrator and comic artist. Melina got her degree in 2D animation from SCAD in 2016. Her love for dolls began in childhood, but it wasn’t she discovered Monster High and the limitless possibilities of customizing them. After graduating college, moving
around the country, getting married and starting a family, she moved back home and pursued 3D printing and doll making. From there angelBABE and Chichi were born! Melina resides in Chicago with her husband, two sons and cat, Jiji.

Artist Statement
I grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago in the late 90's to early 2000's to parents who not only encouraged my artistic side, but fueled it. Growing up as a queer black female artist, I found myself frequently ostrazied and alienanted wherever I went, but dolls were always a refuge, even as I got older. Not seeing myself represented forced me to subconciously find a reflection of myself in a world that is extremely terse towards people of color, espically black people. I have always embraced my sexuality, my sensuality, in a world that demands my compliance and silence.
In college, I again found myself on the outside looking in at colleagues who made content for family friendly audiences, and that just never resonated with me. Combining my love for art, fashion, dolls, black culture was born Angeldollz, an outlet for me to not only see myself in something beuatiufl and coveted, but also a chance to provide that for everyone who walks this Earth alone. I think dolls are the greatest companion that we've all had since we were children, babies even.
Angeldollz seeks to expand that love into adulthood, to show that there is no age limit to playing, imagination, and being yourself.
